<p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p><p>A small, growing boutique firm with a tight-knit team is looking to add a sharp litigator at the Senior Associate or Counsel level. This is a genuine partnership-track role for someone who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client relationships, and a sustainable workload. The firm handles sophisticated cross-border commercial and IP disputes in U.S. courts, frequently representing international clients.</p><p><strong>Position Details</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Title:</strong> Senior Associate or Counsel</p></li><li><p><strong>Location:</strong> Los Angeles/Orange County or San Francisco Bay Area preferred; role is primarily remote</p></li><li><p><strong>Track:</strong> Clear path to partnership</p></li><li><p><strong>Billable hours target:</strong> 1,200 hours per year</p></li></ul><p><strong>What You'll Work On</strong></p><ul><li><p>Federal and state commercial litigation, including contract and business disputes</p></li><li><p>Patent and trademark litigation</p></li><li><p>Cross-border matters involving international discovery, Hague Convention service, and enforcement of foreign judgments</p></li><li><p>Full-cycle case management: pleadings, discovery, motions, and hearings</p></li></ul><p><strong>What We're Looking For</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Experience:</strong> 5–15 years of civil litigation with a strong commercial disputes track record</p></li><li><p><strong>Bar admission:</strong> Active California Bar member in good standing; admission to the Northern and/or Central District of California required</p></li><li><p><strong>Credentials:</strong> Strong academic background expected</p></li><li><p><strong>Skills:</strong> Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy; ability to independently manage complex matters</p></li><li><p><strong>Pluses:</strong> IP litigation experience; federal clerkship; additional bar admissions (NY, TX, DC); Mandarin fluency; interest in cross-border work</p></li><li><p><strong>Ideal fit:</strong> A skilled attorney seeking quality work and work/life balance — well-suited for, among others, a working parent with strong credentials who wants a rigorous but manageable practice</p></li></ul><p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Base salary:</strong> Minimum $150,000, with compensation determined by experience and seniority</p></li><li><p><strong>Bonuses:</strong> Transparent, hour-based bonus structure; meaningful upside for every 100 hours above the 1,200-hour target</p></li><li><p><strong>Work arrangement:</strong> Primarily remote, with occasional in-person appearances and projects in the LA/OC or Bay Area</p></li><li><p><strong>Growth:</strong> Genuine equity and leadership opportunity as the firm scales</p></li></ul>
