The Senior Underwriter is responsible for pipeline management, risk selection, qualification, pricing within the program guidelines and objectives and selling the proposal to the broker.  This includes working and negotiating directly with brokers, carriers and internal stakeholders. RESPONSIBILITIES<ul style="margin-bottom:13px;"><li style="margin-left:8px;">Underwrite restaurants risks for primary package and excess/umbrella lines of business.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Analyze and evaluate applicants to ensure proper risk selection.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Negotiate pricing and coverage with brokers.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Rate and quote new and renewal business while adhering to underwriting guidelines and rating rules with proper file documentation. </li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Underwrite and document all service requests for in-force policies within authority.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Communicate with brokers to obtain information needed to underwriter risks, respond to questions and address issues.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Gather competitor information and marketing intelligence to identify opportunities for improvements to products and pricing.</li><li style="margin-bottom:13px;margin-left:8px;">Participate in other company projects and new initiatives.</li></ul> SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS<ul style="margin-bottom:13px;"><li style="margin-left:8px;">Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Minimum 5 years of Commercial Package (ISO-based) underwriting experience.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Prior experience underwriting restaurants required.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ISO-based rating.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Property and Casualty Insurance license</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Analytical and quantitative skills.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Must be self-driven detail oriented & possess strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.</li><li style="margin-left:8px;">Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li style="margin-bottom:13px;margin-left:8px;">May be required to travel for team and broker meetings.</li></ul> LOCATION<ul><li>This is a remote position. </li></ul> COMPENSATION AND PERKS<ul><li>$90,000 - $120,000 base salary plus bonus.
