From F-35 and F-16 fighter jets, to the latest aviation technologies, to working on medical devices, spacecraft, and satellites – our engineers have worked on some of the coolest Aerospace, Defense, Space, and Medical Device products in the world. </p> <p><strong>Be part of a team that is powering engineering solutions that drive technology. </strong></p> <p><strong>Quest Defense Systems and Solutions is seeking highly skilled Software Verification & Validation Engineers </strong>to perform requirements-based unit tests for embedded software on a nuclear power plant control system. The NQA-1 safety standard governs the project, a quality assurance framework for nuclear facility applications. Testing should be performed with a safety and completeness mindset prescribed by DO-178. However, NQA-1 is less prescriptive, acting as a high-level quality framework, and less structured. Comprehensive testing is required (MCDC coverage).</p> <p><em><strong>Due to the nature of the project, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens or US lawful permanent residents. </strong></em></p> <p><em><strong>This role is remote. </strong></em></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Developing controls/monitoring software, low-level requirements-based tests to generate full-coverage LDRA verification procedures. </li> <li>Analyzing and dispositioning structural coverage holes. </li> <li>Coordinating with the customer to ensure full test coverage, correct expected results, and communication/disposition of test findings. </li> <li>Executing the tests in the LDRA test setup on both simulated and on-target environments. </li> <li>Reviewing test results and test time history data during test development, regression runs, and to help debug software issues. </li> <li>Identifying findings and reporting them to the customer when test outcomes do not align with requirements or with expected results. </li> <li>Authoring and participating in formal reviews of test cases, procedures, and results. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field. </li> <li>5 years performing low-level software requirements-based testing </li> <li>2 years testing with LDRA or similar tool (i.e., VectorCAST) </li> <li>Proficiency in understanding C programming, preferably with experience developing C code. </li> <li><span data-teams="true">Emphasis on Python development, especially UI building with Python. </span></li> <li>Experience doing requirements-based testing under DO-178B/C or other safety-critical process standards. </li> <li>A general understanding of control laws and redundancy management </li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li><span data-teams="true">Experience with "tkinter", a Python UI building toolkit, is a plus</span></li> <li>Commercial controls industry experience or other embedded software development experience </li> <li>5 years developing embedded software in safety-critical systems </li> </ul> <p><strong>The QDSS Advantage:  </strong></p> <p>At QDSS, our advantage is purpose-driven work, collaborative teams, and complex challenges that push boundaries and build lasting impact. You’ll grow your career while contributing to mission-critical programs that demand excellence and shape the future. </p> <p><u>What You’ll Find Here</u> </p> <ul> <li>Work That Matters – Next-generation, safety- and mission-critical projects where your contributions have real-world impact. </li> <li>Growth That’s Supported – Competitive compensation, employer-matched 401(k), certification assistance, and clear opportunities for advancement. </li> <li>A Culture That Works – A flexible, collaborative, and people-first environment where teamwork, innovation, and balance are valued. </li> </ul> <p><u>Benefits Include</u> </p> <ul> <li>Competitive pay, comprehensive medical/dental/life and disability coverage, 401(k) with employer match, professional development support, and a flexible, friendly workplace. </li> </ul> <p> </p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p>Full compensation package is based on candidate experience and certifications</p></div><div class="title">Pay Ranges</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$120,000</span><span class="divider">—</span><span>$155,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p>At <strong style="color: #662a53;">Quest Defense Systems and Solutions</strong>, we don’t just build technology — we engineer the future.
