What will the Compliance Intern do? Coterie is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compliance Intern to support key operational and regulatory initiatives during the summer. This role offers hands-on experience working at the intersection of compliance, operations, and business growth within a fast-paced insurtech environment. As a Compliance Intern, you’ll help build and organize critical systems, support licensing and regulatory processes, and contribute to projects that improve how we manage risk and partner relationships. Key Responsibilities: Support the Compliance team in building and maintaining a centralized contract repository, including organizing documents and establishing naming conventions Help track and manage partner compliance documentation, including renewals, amendments, and key updates Assist with licensing and regulatory filings, including Secretary of State filings and audit support Monitor compliance programs and contribute to recordkeeping, audits, and reporting efforts Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance processes are accurate and up to date Contribute to additional compliance and operational projects as needed What we are looking for: Currently enrolled in a college or university program (Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or related field preferred) Strong interest in compliance, legal, operations, or the insurance industry Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong communication and collaboration skills Comfortable working independently in a remote environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Why this internship? The goal is to provide an opportunity for us to learn more about our candidates while allowing them to get to know us as well! Phase 1: Qualified candidates will first meet with a member of our People Operations team for a phone interview. This discussion is a high-level conversation to understand more about your background and interests and for us to share more about Coterie and the position. Phase 2: Selected candidates will be invited to meet with our Hiring Manager for a 2nd interview via Teams video. This interview is designed to be more detail oriented and allows you to learn more about the role Phase 3: Top candidates will receive an invite for our final interview series via Teams video. This series will include 1:1 interviews with selected team members. The final series is roughly 1 hour in length.
