Project Manager, Steam Turbine

The Steam Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of service projects for steam turbines. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope, and adhering to budget while delivering strong customer relationships. KEY FUNCTIONS * Own full project lifecycle from kickoff through closeout, including planning, execution, and final reconciliation. * Develop detailed project schedules, manpower plans, and outage timelines in coordination with field leadership. * Partner with field supervisors and site leads to ensure proper execution, crew alignment, and productivity in the field. * Serve as the principal point of contact for customers, overseeing communication, expectations, and issue resolution throughout the project. * Track and manage project finances, such as budgets, costs, labor hours, and margin performance. * Review and approve time, expenses, and cost allocations to ensure alignment with job costing requirements. * Determine scope adjustments and oversee change order (EWO) paperwork, price, and client approval. * Proactively identify risks (schedule, labor, technical, and commercial) and implement mitigation solutions. * Coordinate with supply chain and vendors to ensure materials, tooling, and services are available as needed. * Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and contractual standards during the project's execution. * Support the billing and invoicing operations by assuring correctness and timely submission. *This job description is a summary of the primary job scope and should not be assumed as an all-inclusive description.* WORK QUALIFICATIONS: Required: * 7+ years of experience in power generation, steam turbine services, or similar heavy industrial field services * Proven project management experience in field service or outage-based environments * Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities * Strong financial acumen, including job costing, budgeting, cost control, and margin administration * Strong communication skills with both customers and internal teams (field, engineering, finance) * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment Preferred: * PMP Certification EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Required: * Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * 40–70% travel depending on project scope and field support needs. * Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time or until the end of the assigned shift. * Must be able to lift 40 lbs. safely and properly, as needed throughout the assigned shift with or without assistance. * Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder height, crouch, balance, and push/pull. * Must be comfortable working in varying conditions.
