We partner with leading banks, credit unions, and enterprise organizations to deliver innovative digital banking solutions.We are looking for a Senior iOS Mobile Developer with Backbase experience to join our team and help build and enhance digital banking applications for our financial services clients.While Aequilibrium is a Canadian company, we are a fully remote organization and welcome candidates throughout the Americas.<h2>Who You Are</h2><ul><li>Passionate about building high-quality mobile applications and delivering exceptional user experiences.</li><li>Comfortable working directly with clients and stakeholders in a consultative environment.</li><li>Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to quality and detail.</li><li>A strong collaborator who enjoys working with Product Managers, Designers, Developers, and client teams.</li><li>Committed to writing clean, maintainable, testable, and well-documented code.</li><li>Experienced with Agile software development methodologies and continuous improvement.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Familiar with modern software development practices, automation, CI/CD, and code review processes.</li></ul><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Develop, customize, and maintain native iOS applications built on the Backbase Digital Banking Platform.</li><li>Extend and integrate Backbase mobile components to meet client-specific requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly banking solutions.</li><li>Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and release planning.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while maintaining high application performance and reliability.</li><li>Work directly with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tooling, and engineering standards.</li></ul><h2>Must-Have Qualifications</h2><ul><li>5+ years of professional iOS development experience.</li><li>Strong proficiency with Swift and UIKit.</li><li>Hands-on experience extending, integrating, and customizing the Backbase Digital Banking Platform.</li><li>Experience delivering digital banking solutions for credit unions, banks, or other financial institutions.</li><li>Experience working in a professional services, consulting, or client-facing environment.</li><li>Strong understanding of MVVM, Clean Architecture, and modern mobile development patterns.</li><li>Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services.</li><li>Experience with reactive programming using Combine and/or RxSwift.</li><li>Experience creating automated unit tests and maintaining high code quality standards.</li><li>Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and mobile release processes.</li><li>Experience publishing and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store.</li><li>Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.</li><li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.</li></ul><h2>Nice-to-Have Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience with Backbase Mobile SDKs, Widgets, and Customer Experience Platform (CXP).</li><li>Experience supporting white-label banking applications.</li><li>Experience working with Canadian credit unions.</li><li>Experience with Bitrise, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.</li><li>Experience mentoring developers and participating in technical leadership activities.</li></ul><h2>Location</h2>This is a 100% remote full-time position open to candidates throughout the Americas.Candidates located outside Canada will work as independent contractors.<h2>Compensation</h2>CAD $90,000 – $130,000 annually for Canadian employees, depending on experience and location.Equivalent contractor rates will be considered for candidates outside Canada.<h2>Why Join Aequilibrium?</h2><ul><li>Competitive compensation</li><li>Remote-first culture</li><li>Medical, dental, and extended health benefits (Canadian employees)</li><li>Employee bonus programs</li><li>Professional growth opportunities</li><li>Team-building events and activities</li></ul>Aequilibrium is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
