Purpose of the role: The Trainee Project Manager role is responsible for supporting the core areas of Change Management: Project Management Office (PMO) and Project Management. You will work within a supportive team and get involved in a range of different tasks such as supporting small, localised projects (or specific small projects within programmes or larger projects). Key responsibilities/what you’ll do: · Following a defined development path for Change Management – Including PMO and Project Management · Responsible for the delivery of small projects and initiatives with appropriate support · Learn how to and then facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables and success criteria · Deliver initiative/project outcomes to meet the defined success criteria · Follow processes to ensure documentation, reports and plans are relevant, appropriate to the complexity, accurate updated and complete · Control project scope and any changes using change management processes · Ensure project budgets are tracked and managed and that any identified deviations are escalated · Monitor progress against agreed milestones and provide regular updates to all stakeholders · Management of risks ensuring that each risk has an owner, clearly defined impact, and mitigating actions · Appropriate escalation of risks and issues to mentor, sponsor and stakeholders · Building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships with peers and line managers Salary: £28,300 Assessment centre dates: June Start date: Monday 7th September 2026 Personal attributes: STRAIGHT TALKING | MOVING WITH SPEED | OWNING THE OUTCOME · Clear communicator, able to tailor style and content to different audiences · Strong team player and problem solver · Demonstrated passion and drive for delivering the best outcome · Moving with speed – delivering faster and better · Decisive and take ownership of outcomes · Not afraid to challenge and be open to challenges · Highly motivated, proactive individual able to manage your own workload and take initiative to manage deadlines · Ability to take on knowledge rapidly, ability to self-learn and discover About the apprenticeship: As a Trainee Project Manager, you will develop the technical knowledge plus the professional skills and behaviours to work within our exciting and fast-paced Change team, gaining valuable work experience plus achieving a qualification through a structured apprenticeship programme to kick-start your career. Through the level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship, you will learn and grow technical knowledge in the following areas: · Project management fundamentals such as scheduling, budgeting, and cost control · Business case and benefits, planning and scope, and quality · Resources and procurement · Risks and issues · Stakeholder communication, leadership, and teamwork · Governance and methodologies By the end of the apprenticeship, you will achieve your Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship. To apply for this role, you will need: · To be 18 years old as of 1st September 2026 · Be a UK/EEA citizen or have lived in the UK/EEA continuously for the last 3 years · To be eligible to work in the UK and not in full-time education · Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4) · To have achieved, or predicted to achieve in 2026, a minimum of 48 UCAS points at A-level or an equivalent (e.g., BTEC qualification).
